How to living healthy with Chaos and trauma

Helping to Find Peace in a Changing World

The pandemic of 2020 hit us like a firestorm, wreaking havoc with our well-being, our health, our support systems, our lives. It has left in its wake
chaos and trauma throughout our physical and energy bodies. The support
systems we had built and become familiar with have been torn apart by
social distancing and fear. We have had to learn new ways of reaching out,
staying connected and getting the help we need. As we try to make sense
of a changing world and re-establish something that resembles normal,
many of us are finding that the things we relied on to get us through
hardship may not work the same as they used to.

In our debut book, “Energy Healing & Enlightenment,” we offer simple
insights, new perspectives and easy exercises that can help anyone find
peace and strength in the midst of life’s difficult times.

The ideas we present help readers broaden awareness, recognize where
they are and what they wish to create, and teach them how to let go of old
baggage. We offer them as a guide for readers to become conscious
creators in their own lives by encouraging them to let go of their fear and
discover the magnificence of who they truly are.

To give you an idea of what you can find in our book, we present an
excerpt which includes a short exercise.

Chaos and Trauma

Chaos and trauma are a natural part of living. Throughout our lives, we will
face illness, death, divorce, survival, and day-to-day issues such as bills,
upset spouses, dealing with children, work stress, loneliness, etc. These
things can affect us in different ways at different times. Today you may be
enjoying your children, whereas tomorrow you may feel frustrated with
every request. Recognize that what feels chaotic to you may be what
nurtures someone else.

Often, we judge our experiences, whether they are
good or bad, by the qualifications of others. However, no one else has the
right to define our feelings about what happens to us. It is one of our
lessons to learn to validate how we feel about the chaos in our lives. When
we acknowledge those feelings, we are open to choose our responses, and
change how chaos will affect us.

The energy of Sei Hei Ki 2, a Reiki symbol, is used to remove chaotic and
traumatic energy. It can be used to help us get past that feeling of “being
stuck” in a situation. It replaces feelings of victimization with power to
accept life’s trials and work through them with strength and wisdom.
Chaos and trauma, although very natural to our daily lives, can come from
our past experiences.

We question, analyze, and attach judgment to why
we feel as we do and often ignore these experiences, thinking we have let
go without realizing that we haven’t. They are still affecting us every day. If
we are not willing to explore and let go of these experiences and emotions,
they remain active in our energy field.

Since our subconscious mind does not recognize linear time, it sees
everything in our energy field as current. This is why it is so important for us to release old trauma, emotional baggage, and beliefs that no longer serve us. We want to be aligned with positive, joyous, loving thoughts and
feelings.

Emotional trauma from past experiences can be more damaging and
harder to heal and release than chaos that goes on outside of ourselves.
Whenever the chaos “out there” becomes too much, we can turn off the
phone, stay home for a time to decompress, go out of town for the night,
get a massage or head to the hills for a day. We can learn to say “no,”
limiting the chaos to what we are willing to handle. Notice we said willing to handle, not able to handle or asked to handle. We each have the right to
draw our own lines and hold them.

On the other hand, emotional trauma can be buried so deep in our
unconscious that we don’t recognize that it is even there. It lies in wait until
a new event triggers it and it flares to life with all the pain and anguish of a
new wound that continues to rise over and over again until we
acknowledge it. Every time it comes forward, it can be an overwhelming
experience, making it difficult to recognize where it is coming from and the power it holds over us.

Our power comes with the understanding that no problem can exist unless
a solution also exists. Just because we don’t see the solution doesn’t mean
it isn’t there. By opening ourselves to change, the universe will help by
presenting a solution to any problem we may face. Someone once said that
talking about problems is society’s greatest addiction. We can become so
absorbed in our problems that we actually close the door to problem
solving. By choosing to break the habit and believing that there is a
solution, the universe will deliver one when we need it.

Exercise 1 — Emotional Awareness

This exercise is designed to build awareness of your emotional issues. It
will help you begin to recognize and release the emotional charge your past
experiences have on you.

It may simplify things to remember that the underlying cause of negative
emotions is always fear. With that in mind, whenever you notice yourself
having an emotional reaction, ask yourself the following questions:

• What am I afraid of?
• What am I trying to control?
• Why do I want to control it?

As your insights come up, allow yourself free expression of any fears and
thoughts that come to mind. Record your experience and these insights in
your journal.

In the beginning it may help to type the questions on a sheet of paper. Make several copies and post them where you are likely to see them, such
as the fridge, the bathroom mirror, the dash of your car, or your desk at
work.
